Frequently Asked Questions

What ages or grade levels do you work with? I primarily work with elementary-aged students who are developing foundational reading skills. Sessions are designed to support students who are learning to decode words and build confidence as readers.

How do I know if my child needs reading intervention? Some common signs include slow or frustrating reading, difficulty remembering letter sounds, guessing at words, avoiding reading, or struggling with spelling. If you’re unsure, a free consultation is a great way to discuss your child’s needs.

My child is struggling with reading, but the school says they don't qualify for intervention. Can you help? Yes. Some students may not qualify for additional services at school but still benefit from targeted reading instruction. If reading feels slow, frustrating, or inconsistent for your child, identifying and strengthening foundational skills can make a meaningful difference.

How are sessions conducted? All sessions are conducted virtually in a structured online learning environment that allows students to actively participate in reading activities and interact with instructional materials.

How long are sessions? Intervention sessions are available in 30-minute and 45-minute formats, depending on your child’s needs.

How often should my child attend sessions? Most students benefit from meeting two to three times per week in order to build skills consistently and make meaningful progress.

What technology is needed for online sessions? Students will need a computer or tablet with internet access, a camera, and a microphone. Sessions take place in an interactive online environment that allows students to see materials, practice reading skills, and participate actively.

Is it too late if my child is already in upper elementary school? Not at all. Many students make significant progress when they receive instruction that addresses the specific skills they need to develop. With the right support and consistent practice, students can build stronger reading skills and confidence.

Will I receive feedback regarding my child’s progress? Yes. Parents receive feedback after each session along with suggested activities that can support reading development at home.
